Engine

Engine is Volvo Penta D2-40 (39hp) coupled to a 130S saildrive fitted with a 3 blade LH propeller. This was installed in 2016 (replacing the original Volvo MD 2040S). As of June 2025 the new engine had run 748 hours. It has been serviced annually by Ocean Marine (Volvo agents), last service Dec 2024, last saildrive / diaphragm service 2023.

The installation included an upgraded fuel pre filter. The engine unit also houses an automatic fire extinguisher, calorifier, s/s waterlock / muffler and engine start up blower

Both domestic and starter battery banks are located just aft of engine room beneath aft cabin bunks

Access to engine is via hinged panel in aft cabin (as shown) and by removal of companion way ladder (to front end of engine)
